Hi my Name is Sarah and I am a full time mommy, a full time hairstylist, and hair is my passion! For over 17 years I’ve been helping people get the hair of their dreams and I love every minute of it! During that time I have also been listening to my clients personal challenges with their hair and some days I am more of a therapist then a stylist ~ A Hairipist as I like to call it! Haha 🙂 At the core of all this I am passionate about helping people and great hair -as you know- can change your life.
I work tirelessly to find the best techniques and products for my clients and I pride myself on staying on top of current trends in the hair industry.*BUT I’M HERE TO TELL YOU I AM FED UP WITH THE GARBAGE WE HAVE BEEN TOLD & SOLD BY BIG INDUSTRY* I will be honest- I am a forever skeptic and I am a “I’ll believe it when I see it” kinda gal. With that said; this is my journey and I share it with you in hopes of bringing hope and help to women; who like myself, for whatever reason suffer from hair loss. This is my story.
For nearly two decades I’ve been asked “what I do for hair loss”!? I had no legit answers to give anyone, because there’s barely been anything out there that I would feel comfortable endorsing or recommending!
All I could say was: “Have you checked your thyroid”? “Any recent hormonal changes due to baby or menopause??” Sound familiar…?? Not very helpful right.
I really wanted to have a better answer to give my clients who were suffering and really needed help. The problem was so many big industry hair loss products are chock full of chemicals!!! Not natural at all.
The saddest times are when I had seen women suffering with alopecia, or my poor gals with lupus or just old age and other health issues. And men who just have just thinned so much with no hope at all…
There was NOTHING for them except painful steroid shots to their head or harmful drug and chemical filled products – which in my opinion will create additional problems in the long run. I hated it, and I felt frustrated for my friends and clients.
In 2015 while I was pregnant with my 3rd child I found out I had thyroid cancer. Immediately following the birth of my child I had surgery to have my right lobe of my thyroid removed to extract the tumor. Not only was I losing my hair due to hormone changes {which is so common} from birth, but getting hit with a double whammy of having to remove part of my thyroid: which helps regulate your hair, skin, and weight and so much more ~ my hair was coming out in handfuls.
I started to begin to see my scalp glaring through my hair… it became so thin and dull and I was forced to cut it short. I was mortified and ashamed and I hid under a baseball cap for almost a year after my surgery. It was devastating. On top of all of that it was a painful struggle to find answers- so I started researching.
{ Stay tuned for Part 2 coming soon! }
