I began blogging last year for The Better Business Babe and I wanted to share 5 Things I have learned from this experience! It may seem challenging to find the time or the content to be a guest blog contributor but I feel it has helped push me to achieve some of my professional and personal goals and may help you as well! ~Cristina
Demonstrate your thought leadership.
Translation: “look good and show how smart you are!” Positive public relations is always great. Individuals think more highly of people and organizations that are in the media or referenced by other organizations. Blogging demonstrates your experience or expertise in an area and can give your audience insight into who you are and what you offer.
Introduce your audience to new content.

Build your audience.
Better Business Babe has a vast array of contributors who have their own audience and reach in their area of expertise who contribute. With content and posts relating to women in areas business, balance, and lifestyle the possibilities for new clientele are endless! Someone visiting the site to view a fellow contributors post may end up finding your blog contribution, love it, and want to connect with you more and know more! By cross-marketing your skills with other talented contributors you may connect you with your next client, volunteer, or partner!
You have something to share.
Whether it’s a new recipe, a business concept, spiritual encouragement, or sharing expertise in an area your passionate about you could be a catalyst for helping someone else! At some time this year you’re going to be really excited about something and want to share it with others. We’ve all been there: we’re so passionate and energized about something we can barely contain it and need to pass it along; so why not start here? Blogging is a great way to get it off your chest and share your insight while helping others!
It’s not about you.
Sharing your struggles or your lessons learned is a great way to serve others. It may feel like you’re putting yourself on a pedestal by writing a post–and, in a way you are–but blogging can also be an act of transparency, vulnerability, and service. This is especially the case if you’re courageous enough to share the your struggles as you are struggling (versus after the fact). You never know who may resonate with what you have to say and need to hear it at that moment. It can be therapeutic for both you and readers when you share and sometimes it’s even a self-centered act when we DON’T share because we’re gypping people out of what we have to offer.
